Bennett Pizzurro
Barber/ Salon Owner
In 1997, Bennett Pizzurro, a skilled barber opened the doors to his first Salon. Located right in the heart of Long Island. Since his pioneering step, it has now become “The Park Avenue Salon” of Deer Park, New York. Hair Cutting is not just a career for Bennett it is within his blood. In 1960, his Father moved to New York City from Italy where he started his life and a family by continuing the occupation that he had held abroad by working in multiple barber shops. In 1976, when Bennett was 8 years old his family moved to Dix Hills when his father was able to purchase his first Barber shop in Deer Park. With the Shop being so close to home, when Bennett wasn’t at school, he was glued to the back of his father’s chair. As Bennett grew up, and recognized the life that he wanted for himself, he attended Wilson technical school at the same time he was in High School. Upon graduating, Bennett started working for his father in 1986. In 1997 Bennett acquired his own store in the same shopping center as his father. Bennett not only built his own store, but built relationships. From clients to cutting edge stylists and workers, Bennetts business has grown tremendously from them. But as loyalty, integrity and honor is the framework that built Bennett, when you walk into the Salon not only will you meet some of the most talented hairdressers, but the many people who have been with Bennett since day 1 that have aided in the success of this establishment. Waking up everyday determined to provide the best living for his family, he has seen the struggle and has persevered through it all. Being exposed to the passion and love that his father had for his work not only inspired a life long career in the haircutting industry, but has now led to his son Frankie to follow in his footsteps making him the third generation Pizzuro in this industry. Haircutting is not just a job. This father son business offers more than just a haircut. With top notch services and a passion for people when you walk in the door, you’re not just a client. You are part of our Family.

Frankie Pizzurro
Barber
As a young kid, I grew up in my fathers barbershop. I would sit there and watch my dad cut hair. As I grew older I started to learn more and more about cutting hair, which I eventually would start doing when I was 15. Starting off by cutting my cousin’s hair, the more I cut hair, the more I loved it. A few years went by and when I turned 19 I started cutting hair in my dad’s barbershop. It really feels like it’s meant to be since my dad has been cutting hair since he was 16 and my grandfather who started our family business cut hair his whole life. I love that the more I cut hair the more I learn different tips and techniques. Also I learn so many different things about cutting from all the other barbers that work in the shop. The absolute best thing about cutting hair is making people feel good about themselves!!

I have been working in the beauty industry for 16 years. I graduated from Wilson Tech Cosmetology School of Dix Hills. Soon after, I started at Park Avenue Salon as an Assistant and today I’m one of the main Colorists. I love being a Hairstylist because I enjoy being creative and it brings me joy when I make people look good and more importantly feel good about themselves. I specialize in Color & Highlights, as well as Haircuts and Brazilian Blowouts. My favorite service to provide for my clients is a beautiful Highlight/balayage. My favorite products to use are Moroccan Oil smoothing lotion and Brazilian Blowout dry oil. The lotion helps to smooth your hair. The oil which I use as a finishing product, helps to strengthen and smooth the hair without weighing it down!

I look forward to having great conversations and the next time we see each other! From cuts to colors and everything in between, I love using my creativity to make my clientele feel great walking out the door. Being in the beauty industry for many years, I have come across many products. Some that I prefer are Moroccan and Biolage.
